Adrean had the privilege of growing up in the wide-open spaces of the Rockies/Plains region. During her school years, her family was part of a small neighborly community that was close knit yet welcomed strangers with open arms. In her youth, Andrea seized every opportunity to expand her understanding and gain more knowledge and skills. She participated in school and community bands, enjoyed hiking, biking, rappelling, fishing, boating, swimming, horseback riding, and many of the other outdoor activities the region had to offer.  Many fond memories where made at a friend’s cabin in the mountains, which had no plumbing or electricity and was heated by a wood burning fireplace.

Adrean and her husband have raised three children . Through her husband's career in the US Military, they have lived in many regions of the US and several countries around the world. The diverse experiences and joy de vivre that drives her have provided a wealth of experience for Adrean to draw on in her writing.
