I am a graduate musician and was responsible for music and drama in a large English comprehensive school with pupils in the age range 11 - 18. Whilst teaching, besides composing music - musicals and church music - I also wrote plays and a great deal of teaching materials. Since retiring I have concentrated on writing fiction. I have written two adult books and ten books for teenage readers although they seem to be enjoyed as much by adults who appreciate the deeper meanings. I have worked with Age Concern researching the history of the village where I was born and hope to assemble the memories people have shared with me into a book in the near future. My wife and I now live in France but are frequently in England giving lectures. I talk to all age groups and have spoken in schools about creative writing. I am particularly interested in helping young writers to start writing. I also speak about writing to adult groups and am willing to give workshop sessions as well as talking about my books. I speak about life in Provence and this is one of my most booked talks which lasts between forty-five minutes and an hour and is fully illustrated. Since we have some experience in renovating houses I also have a humorous illustrated talk about our experiences.
