In an old school room with inkwell desks, a snow flurry outside the school heralded a new writer. Writing became a way to escape the mundane world.
Although writing off and on since that sixth grade snow storm, Carla became serious about about writing and becoming a writer. After getting her AA at Valencia Community College, she continued her education to receive her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English at University of Central Florida. She currently works full time at an international airport. She hopes to someday retire and become a writing consultant.
Carla pubished her first fiction piece, "Me? I'm No Writer" in the Valencia Community quarterly magazine Phoenix. After joined a flash writing group, she successfully published over a dozen short stories and poems, two which appear in different book anthologies, Zombie Cookbook ("Brain Food") and Vicious Verses and Reanimated Rhymes ("A Day in the Death of a Zombie"). With two other authors, Carol Clark and Linda Neiswender (the other author names are Carla's pseudonyms), she published Tarot at Midnight in April 2016. She is particularly fond of writing speculative fiction which involve mermaids and zombies.
Currently living in Central Florida with her husband, daughter, and two cats, she continues her quest to publish short fiction for all to enjoy.
