Type or paste your background here I received a B.A. Degree in Social Work from Pennsylvania State University, and graduated summa cum laude in 1989.  In addition, I  am a member of three national honor societies; i.e. Phi Beta Kappa, The Golden Key National Honor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi.  My work experience consists of almost fifteen years in the social service field including, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging in Pennsylvania, Department of Human Resources in North Carolina, and the Forsyth County Mental Health Department in North Carolina. Through my contacts with clients and patients in the different positions I held, I became interested in each person's story.  This led to me wanting to tell individuals' stories, so I started with my story.  I believed I must be able to tell my story before I could tell someone elses. My first book entitled "Tears For Grandma" is a memoir about my first encounter with death at the age of 12.  My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and came to live with us because she could no longer care for herself.   She eventually dies, and I struggle with the ensuing grief.  This book has been published by Publish America. I am currently working on my first novel.  It, too, tells of an individual's struggle with the consequences of his actions. It is just the beginning of my writing experiences since I've only been writing about four years; however, I am learning to enjoy it more each time I sit down to create the story I'm working on.
