I don't have to go far to find characters or subjects to write about Scottish immigrants with the fey, hippies in the '60's and paranormal phenomena.

Background Information

In eighth grade I won my first award for writing about why I liked living the USA. As a Scottish immigrant I learned the value of storytelling as a shared family event. Both of these experiences encouraged an interest in writing. In eigth grade I won my first award for writing about why I liked living the U.S.A. My mother influenced my love of books. As a Scottish immigrant I learned the value of storytelling as a shared family event where stories of life in Scotland was told. These experiences encouraged an interest in writing.   Creating characters and scenarios are easy enough for me as I rely upon, not only family history, but the great era and places I lived: Glasgow, Scotland and came of age in San Francisco during the colorful 1960's.    Educated by the nuns (in habits) provided more fodder for stories.  As did many in the 1960's and '70's I experimented with other religions and later in life chose to become a pagan, Wiccan, which I find stimulating spiritually. Writing about religious beliefs and acceptance of people different than the 'norm' is important to me. Being a Wiccan and a person with strong psychic abilities I've taken a lot of criticism. But my good Scottish heritage keeps me committed to my beliefs.   My first book is based on forty years of experiences as a psychic reader and medium. I've conducted psychic readings throughout the US and parts of the world, worked with law enforcement. I've had wonderful experiences and some scary ones too. In 2013 I began Ghost Walks in San Francisco with The Haunted Bay a paranormal investigation group which can be seen on Youtube.com. They are increasingly popular, more are planned, and it's leading to another book from me.   After answering the same questions over and over about what a psychic does, what will I get in a reading, I put it all into a little booklet in 1, which still sells, now as a Kindle. This book allowed me opportunities to appear on television and radio, teach at the Learning Annex and became the number one seller by an unknown author at the 1991 Whole Life Expo in New York where I was a featured speaker. It has earned me national and international notice in my profession. You see, one never knows where writing can lead to!   The method I used to write my both my novels was through visioning it on screen. My first book, The Skye in June, came to print because of a suggestion by an author friend. She said it was to good a story not to be read as a book. The second novel, City of Redemption first written as a screenplay was because a Scottish actress asked me to write it for her. Presently, I'm writing the sequel to The Skye in June and a about ghostly encounters while marketing my City screenplay. No matter what ever becomes of my writing, it has been a fantastic voyage, taking me traveling from the West to the East Coast, and meeting people from many professionas everywhere. That, in itself is a reward.
