I spent a summer working on a guest ranch close to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I loved my time there and actually was able to play out my childhood fantasies of being a real cowgirl. I tried to ride everyday and I learned a lot about western ways and how the authentic cowboys lived in the past. I also learned a lot about todays cowboys and although the work may be a little different in todays west the rugged heart of the real American cowboy is still there. I met Danielle Steel while I was working at the ranch and she gave me great inspiration about writing books. I had always written short stories and poetry but I had never taken on the challenge of writing a book. I am happy to say that I now have five books published each one about strong and independent women who lived in the west. I am very proud of my writings and am currently working on a sixth book. The way I write is a mystery to me. As I place my fingers on the keyboard the words just come out. I never know which direction the story is going until I sit down and start typing. I believe this is something you have to be born with just like great musicians or an artist with a paintbrush. I realize that I am far from being a Picasso or a Beethoven but it sure feels good to write a story and know that it will be enjoyed by others.
