Ann Benoit [pronounced ben-WAH] is a columnist with New Orleans Times-PIcayune newspaper. She is the author and photographer of New Orleans Best Seafood Restaurants, New Orleans Best Ethnic Restaurants - including Cajun!, and The Broussard's Restaurant and Courtyard Cookbook. Her cookbooks have been named to the Top 20 Louisiana cookbooks by Amazon.   From her earliest days in grammer school when she wrote for the grammer school newsletter, through high school when she was editor in chief of the school literary magazine, through college when she majored in English and started an underground newpaper, through law school when she wrote the food and entertainment column for the law school newspaper, through 25 years of writing legal opinions, speeches, law review articles, and books for the judiciary while moonlighting as a copy editor and ghostwriter for New Orleans food writers, through becoming an author published by a highly respected traditional 93 year old regional publishing house until finally she became a commercial book packager, Benoit has always been a writer. As a journalist, she covers the vibrantcommunity of the Northshore in the suburb of Covington, the Sausalito of New Orleans, and covers New Orleans and area  festivals, fairs and food events. In addition to her career as a writer, Ann Benoit is a commercial food photographer in the U.S. international culinary center of New Orleans. Her photography is published several times a week in the Times-Picayune and she is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers. Her accomplishments in the U.S's most European city include The Broussard's Restaurant and Courtyard Cookbook, published by the leading regional publisher in the area in business since the 1920's, Pelican Publishing. Her fine art photography has been exhibited at the PhotoNola show at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Her photos have appeared in the Times-Picayune, as well as Inside New Orleans magazine, Louisiana KItchen and Culture, Gambit, Amelie G and SEVEN magazine. She has done commercial advertising photography as well as editorial photography for numerous clients and publications.
