I began writing in my youth. My first completed novel was a science fiction that I wrote in my twenties. I tore it up after it was rebuked by one publisher. My second book was a horror novel. This was my Stephen King era. It's in a drawer in our spare bedroom. My third book I wrote in my forties. I was a librarian then, working in a public library where one of my duties was as a children's librarian. That year the summer reading program featured fantasies. I painted a series of dragons from children's books to help advertise it. Meanwhile, at home, I wrote a fiction for adults featuring a dragon. That fantasy novel is next to the horror. In the spare bedroom. Then I retired...and cleaned out my basement. My mother's things were still there, after her long stay with us. One of the miraculous things she saved from my childhood (my mother was the family historian) was a short novel...perhaps my first. It was a mystery. I'd forgotten that first love. And my always love, when I finally thought about it. I have always love a good mystery. So now I write them. And I love writing them as much as I love reading them. Each of the Quilted Mystery novels are complete and separate stories.
