Travel and life's exciting escapades have been constant in my life from a very early age. As a youth, I remember my mother accepting a position as a private investigator. And even at a young age, I spent time with here when it was her job to follow those suspected of one crime or another, awaiting a mere speck of information that could provide evidence. From the moment I graduated from high school, it was to be my destiny and explore many countries. It all began, once basic training was over and my new assignment was to attend Language School at Syracuse University. Whether it would prove to be true or not, from that point on, I was jokingly dubbed a "spy” by friends and family. Learning at Syracuse was one of the most interesting experiences of my life...one of many to follow. After a stint in cryptography school, I was sent to Pakistan. I traveled through Madrid, Dharan, Saudi Arabia, Karachi and on to Peshawar where I lived for 1 1/2 years. I had the opportunity there to experience the life of the people; sharing a caravan by camel into the Hindu Kush Mountains; visiting the tiny country of Swat; visiting Kashmir and, on several occasions; venturing into the Khyber Pass and Kabul, Afghanistan. I spent time at the National Security Agency at Ft. George Meade, Maryland. From the time I was discharged from the military in June of 1968, the knowledge gleaned during my tour of duty became something I would never forget. My future would be that of an investigator in many exciting capacities. I had the opportunity to have my own business as a licensed private investigator and insurance adjuster. My business did well serving clients not only in the United States, but in England as well. This opportunity allowed me to travel again and, over the years, took me to France, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Thailand, Jamaica, Turkey, Italy, Chile, China and much of Southeast Asia. My love of reading and writing began to exert more influence in my life.  I sold the business after more than ten successful years. I wanted to write. Mostly, I wanted to write a novel. Over the last fifty years or so, I have read literally hundreds of novels and own a huge collection of signed editions. There came a point where I believed I could write a better novel than many that I had read and I set out to do just that. My first novel, 'A Walk in Harm's Way', was great fun to write and came easily enough. It took a year to write and another year of endless rewrites and editing. It was also a very cathartic act because much of it came from my own background ('write what you know' - Isn't that what they say?) and it helped with a self-growth process.
