I am inspired by the great writers of this world. You know the guys - those who have the ability to draw the reader in and seemingly freeze time as we imerse ourselves in other worlds. Worlds painted in wonderful high definition. I'm talking about those authors who can move and amuse - sometimes in equal measure. Writers who are both old and new. All the greats from the likes of Voltaire and Dickens, to our own contemporaries like McEwan, Vonnegut or Lewycka . Great storytelling is something we all love and many of us aspire to; it's an innate human craving. And like any other mortal in this world of endless possibilities, I too like to dream.

My short story, 'Scared to Death' won a place in Mardibooks' anthology, 'The Clock Struck War' to mark the centenary of the First World War. The competition was open to writers in the UK and was sponsored by Ideas Tap.
