Neil Hollander is considered one of the worlds most experienced yachtsmen. In his life, Hollander has worked on capturing the spirit and the essence of many things, including sailing and watercraft. This experienced journalist and writer has seen the downfall of sailing, and how sailors across the world struggled in the beginning of the 1980's.
Hollander was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1939. At a relatively young age his family moved to Paris, so he spent most of his childhood there. This event has proved a crucial point in his life as he frequently moved to many exotic countries like Thailand, Costa Rica, Brazil etc. His experience while sailing and his iron-will to write about his journeys have been the sole guide in his life, keeping him constantly on the move and constantly on the creative side. In the mid-to-late 80's he got involved in cinematography, working primarily as a writer and producer.
