I was born and raised in England and grew up with a passion for history. It is hard not to be influenced when it surrounds you every day. I grew up devouring every kind of book I could get my hands on, but developed a special fondness for Georgette Heyer, Catherine Cookson and Chaucer. Don't know why Chaucer. I think because he called a spade a spade. My writing is both romance and what one might call straight historical but so far all set within the Regency period. I try to tackle problems that affect women today and see how they would play out in times past. There were lots of strong women in those days, but they were hampered by the mores of their time, so it makes for an interesting challenge.
