So glad I worked for a country daily newspaper that didn't hesitate to grasp new technology - so I gained computer skills & later became proficient in desk top publishing.

Several years did a column (Coffee Break )in local publication. Also a column (Dusty Pages)about ads & news in newspapers circa 1850-1880

History buff, active in local historical society-volunteer at its museum where I have access to personal journals-letters circa 1850's- 1910- wrote a novel based on material (had to do it in fiction to protect descendents from any embarrassment)Printed & sold out as fundraiser. Amazed with the broad reach of the novel. Got positive feedback from all over the country. Also book is in 4 libraries and word of mouth keeps it circulating. Keepsake Calendar 1998 was historical account of Gowanda condensed into 12 pages used in place of the usual pictoral format - great success as fundraiser -
