Since picking up my first romance novel some fifteen years ago, I’ve known my calling. In my teens, I wrote of love, and all the struggles and heartaches in trying to achieve the perfect happiness. But aside from the love, I enjoyed putting my characters through trials and tribulations, setting them in scary places or having them struggle with difficulties. I didn’t write mushy romance, and so I thought there was no place for someone with my style of writing. Then I picked up a Nora Roberts novel and I found my voice. Her stories spoke to me, told me I wasn’t the only person out there that enjoyed some real meat in my stories. So with my loving husband’s persistence, I looked at publishers. And received enough rejections to wallpaper a room. I plugged on, honing in on my skills, bettering myself as a writer. I never gave up on writing, though I came close after receiving rejection after rejection. Then I entered a contest in the fall of 2006 with Linden Bay Romance, and wound up in the top three. Though my story didn’t win, I was encouraged to send in more work. And so I did. Kidnapped, my first novel was published in February, 2007, followed by Secrets of the Dead in June of 2007 and it didn't stop there. I owe a great deal of my success to my wonderful husband for his love and support and for seeing something in me that I was unsure of. Shiela Stewart is a paranormal suspense author with a writing history that stems back to her youth. Always a dreamer, wondering if her stories would ever reach an audience, she was finally published in 2006 and hasn’t stopped since. It is rare to find a stand-alone book as she prefers series stories. Her longest running series to date is her Darkness series, which is a vampire romance. Her joy for scary suspense is evident in each of her books. She has had several accomplishments, including fighting for the top spot in the rankings with author Stephany Myers, receiving glowing reviews as well as interviews on local television and Romantic Times Magazine. When not writing, Shiela spends her time with the love of her life, William, and their children and grandchildren.. Her strong affection for animals is evident in the many cats, fish and birds she cares for. Her favorite time of day is at sunset.
