I was born in Memphis, Tennessee and attended Melrose high School.At the age of 16, my family moved to Chicago where I graduated from John Marshall High School.Iam a graduate of Chicago State University and earned a Masters from Governors State University in University Park, Illinois.My major influences have been my parents and my immediate family. I am married and the father of two adult daughters.

I am the author of four books, "FreeJoe" , "The Search For FreeJoe","Genealogy Made Simple" and Self-Publishing Made Simple". The last two are e-books that can be found on my website at www.FreeJoeent.com. I own and operate my own publishing Company.I host a television program on cable in Memphis, Small Business Review. I am a graduate of Loop Junior College and Chicago State University in Chicago,IL. I earned a MBA from Governors State University in University Park,IL.I was appointed by the Mayor of Shelby County, Tennessee to serve on the Shelby County Historical Commission.I have received recognition and awards for my work with young people in the community as well as my work with prison inmates. I have been recognized by the state of Tennessee and the Small Business Administration as an advocate for small business.In February of 2002,Southwest Tennessee Community College presented the Carter G. Woodson Award of Merit to me.
