The major influence in me starting to write was the author David Gemmell. I wanted to write heroic fantasy like he does. Unfortunately, that never worked out as I kept wanting to insert humorous asides and comedic characters. The end result was humorous heroic fantasy. I got the best of both worlds. I had heroes, villains and quests to satisfy my creative side, and humour to satisfy my, er, creative side. Hmmmm. Must think of a better way to describe that.
