For over twenty years I have worked in hospitals and residential settings in dealing with crisis situations that include children. Working with patients and other professionals, I have developed different types of mental tools to help deal with what may seem to be an insurmountable problem. Life’s hectic pace hinders parents’ ability to support children in dealing with negative influences. When de-escalating anger, the question arises, “What are the influences that triggered the problem?”
