Growing up on an Indiana farm till age 8, when I moved with my family, (four brothers and a sister) to the Corvallis, Oregon vicinity, I have always had a strong appreciate for people, culture, and especially history. I edited my high school paper in Albany, Oregon, and earned a B.A. with majors in English and History at Willamette University in Salem in 1982.
