After a successful career as a newspaper journalist and freelance writer, I changed career horses following a serious riding accident and went to law school at the age of forty. I've been a prosecuting attorney now for seventeen years, and absolutely love the work. Sometimes I even write about it. However, the keyboard drew me back to creative writing only a few years out of law school. It turns out that while being a lawyer is "what I do," being a writer is "who I am."
