Being the youngest of seven children in a working class family, and losing my mother to a tragic accident two weeks after I began first grade was my first memorable experience with the harsh reality of life. After that traumatic event, I was able to observe the true meaning of strength, loyalty, tenacity, drive, and love, as I observed my father single handedly nurture, protect, and provide for our family.
