Martha Char Love was born in 1947 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and grew up primarily in Georgia and Mississippi. She received her BS in Elementary Education in 1968 and an MA in Educational Psychology in 1970, with a 5th year certificate in Psychometry in the School Psychology department.
