My passion is to educate and empower patients and caregivers so their healthcare journies are safer, better in quality, and much easier to navigate. I wrote my first book, Critical Conditions, after my mother and godmother were patients in hospitals for 5 and 7 months. They both died there. I realized there was no handbook for loved ones to navigate the complex and frustrating hospital system. Critical Conditions won 15 book awards and was featured in Publishers Weekly, Prevention Magazine, Woman's Day,. Family Circle and more.
