Since I was young, being Scottish I was brought up on our national bard Robert 'Rabbie' Burns' spooky poem, Tam O' Shanter, about evil witches and spooks. That, coupled with banshees and other Scottish horrors whetted my appetite for the genre and I devoured as many books as I could on the subject, both fiction and non fiction.
