Monica Michelle was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA., and the eldest of 2 children. She has been writing poetry and music lyrics since she was 10. Poetry has continued to be her therapy. After graduating from Glen Oaks Highschool in 1997, she attended Southern University A&M College. After only 2 semesters, she moved to California and that became the start of "My Life Is Poetry: Vol 1. After California, there was a brief stay in Las Vegas, NV.
