I write stories about people I knew in a country I was born in; a country my father was born in. My grandfather left Poland in 1885 and came to South Africa, establishing a life in the small town of Potchefstroom. He was a tailor to President Paul Kruger, supporting the Boers in the war against Enland in the Anglo Boer war. It was only years later, after my father passed away that I learned the true story about my grandfather. I have told that story in my book, BRAKENSTROOM under the chapter DASSER.
