I've been writing since I was ten years old, when I would make up stories to give to my friends. I remember writing dialogue between famous people on half sheets of paper under my books in high school when I was supposed to be taking notes. One of my favorite childhood books was Harriet the Spy, a story about a young writer who writes down everything she observes in notebooks, some of it getting her into trouble when her notebook is discovered by a jealous classmate.
