I served for seventeen years in Northern Ireland during the IRA's terrorist campaign. I was also a founding member of The Special Reconnaissance Squadron, a very specialised, very selective, and highly motivated unit that was part of the British Special Forces. When I left the army I accepted employment as a sales manager with a business equipment company in Belfast, and eventually, with the help of a partner, took ownership of the compamny.
