My first influence was S.E. Hinton. We had to read her four novels when I was in 7th grade (The Outsiders, That Was Then This Is Now, Rumble Fish and Tex). She was only 16 when she wrote the Outsiders. I became an avid reader at that point, and knew I wanted to be a novelist. more...
