I once got a review that called my book, Monstrous, "equal parts gore and heart," and I think that sums up most of my books fairly succinctly. I grew up on Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, and George Orwell. But I also loved Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and The Turn Of the Screw. I've always written strange and unusual fiction about people who are just a little odd, sometimes unsettlingly off-kilter.
