I once got a review that called my book, Monstrous, "equal parts gore and heart," and I think that sums up most of my books fairly succinctly. I grew up on Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, and George Orwell. But I also loved Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and The Turn Of the Screw. I've always written strange and unusual fiction about people who are just a little odd, sometimes unsettlingly off-kilter. Universes where nothing is as it seems, and ghosts scuttle around, unseen, just out of view. My forte, amidst all this, is finding hope where none should exist with people who have every reason to give up but don't. I write about horrors and death and despair, but there's always a heart.
