D.E. Gray has been a street cop for 42 years (28 years with the Los Angeles Police Department and 14 years with the Escondido Police Department). He has spent 26 of his 28- year career in LAPD working motors (two wheel motorcycles) and then at the age of 50, he was hired by the Escondido Police Department (San Diego North County) where he spent another 14 years, much of it as a uniformed street cop.
