Hi, I'm John Newton, I was born in 1952 and I will be 73 this year. My background is varied, my interests too. I learned to play the guitar at a young age, and spent the 1970s and some of the 1980, playing and singing in folk clubs, of which there were many back then.

I spent the first thirty years of my working life the the printing industry, first as a compositor, then as a typesetter, and finally as a computer operator. At the turn of the century, I sold my house, gave up my job, and bought a narrowboat and went to live on the canals for a few years.
