I was raised in Florida by parents of English immigrants and colonial American backgrounds. After graduation from Florida State University, I taught 7th grade social studies for 18 years. Having written many projects for use in the classroom (due to lack of books), writing became second nature to me. For many years after teaching I also ran the family business, Lucky's Flea Market and Storage, a great one-on-one people business.
