My major writing influences are Langston Hughes, Edgar Allen Poe, Steven King, Bertrand Russell, Basho, Nikki Giovanni, Lenard D. Moore, Washington Irving, and Ernest Hemmingway. My haiku have been translated in three languages (Russian, Japanese, and Romanian.)
