I started writing poetry and prose when I was in elementary school and just fell in love with the freedom it allowed me to have. I took part in all types of arts, but writing was always my first love. My mother was a major influence in my life because she was the one who always gave me a pen and a notebook and encouraged me to express myself the best way I could. Writing was an outlet for me growing up because I always felt like I was a loner, so I would escape from the lonliness by writing.
