Born in a small town in southern Illinois in 1940 in an area which offered little in career opportunities, I quickly ventured north to the big cities. Here I was able to work for a global manufacturer that allowed me to travel to many exotic places in the world, including Malaysia, Indonesia, and The People's Republic of China. I lived in Hong Kong for four years and enjoyed every moment there.
