My interest in writing followed my deep interest in reading. I have been an avid reader from a very young age. I' ve read all of the great writers through the years, authors like Ernest Hemingway, Ralph Ellison, Chester Himes, Donald Goins, Kyle Onsott, and Gore Vidal, and was inspired by their creations. I write to instill that same inspiration in my readers. My book, THROUGH THE STORM: A TRUE STORY OF SURVIVAL, was written in the midst of one of America's worse natural disasters, hurricane Katrina, where my family and I survived for two weeks after the storm and the flood.
