Of Cape Verdean descent, I was born in Boston, MA in 1958. I grew up the only girl amongst four brothers. I graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1976 with an outstanding achievement award in English. Though I never graduated from college, I did take numerous classes that would help me in life which consisted of accounting, english and creative writing.
