i was born in 1979. it was 17th february - the day the famous bengali poet jibanananda dash was born in the 19th century. perhaps i was doomed to write poetry. poetry in bengali.

my father is arun mukherjee. mother- kalpana mukherjee. father is a schhol teacher at ghatal. my family is an out and out middle class one. i well know what poverty looks like.

i am fond of books. in childhood my grandmother - my mother's mother -came to live with us. she used to buy me books. when i was 14 my brother nirjhar was born. i was no longer the eye of the family.
