Poem Artwork

Above The River Seine

Heavenly delight
Fading sunlight
Here with you, love of my life!
Hands held tight
So in love, so in love

In Paris
watching a honey hued sunset
that's kissing this river
that's mellowing, leaving
whispering good evening

Mesmerized we stand
hand in hand
So in love, so in love
on this bridge
...above the river Seine

Suspended
within un-measurable time
within intense feelings sublime
No words can define
our delirium

Our love, hungry!
Yet, sweet and fulfilling
like rich burgundy wine
like luscious ripe fruit
delicious and nourishing

Hearts bursting
with love and lust
Lost in each other
Can't get enough of each other
of love's taste, of its thrust

So in love, so in love
we stand, hand in hand
in Paris at sunset
on this bridge
...above the river Seine

Marvelous composing, Gwen! It glows with the same low, slow light as the gorgeous picture! :)

One of the places where lovers belong. I have not seen the Seine, but felt strange, alone among lovers, as the canon fired over Fort Santiago at sunset.
