Lila loved to learn and play.

She totally enjoyed her pre-school days. 

Now it was time to start anew,

Her first day of kindergarten

Was coming true .                                                                                                  

Some kids’ Moms

Would bring them to school

But, other’s, like Lila’s Mom,

Couldn’t make do.

But, Lila’s Mom

Told her,

“I love you so much;

I know you are strong;

And won’t hold a grudge.”

So, Lila got ready 

To meet                                                           

Her school bus;

She put on her school pack

Did not make a fuss.

She knew  just how much  

She was loved by her Mom.

So, taking

The school bus;

Meant

She had to

Stay calm.

Except, that morning,           

When Lila stepped down,

From her school bus ride,

She had a frown.

She was met at the school

But, she didn’t know why

A tear had formed

And she ALMOST cried.

Then, she walked through

The school hall

To her classroom door

But for some strange reason

Lila didn't worry anymore.

She ALMOST cried.        

But, you won’t be surprised;

Lila became strong

When she wiped her eye.

In class, she made friends

And even took turns.

She listened to teacher, who said,

“We are all here to learn.”

She stayed focused and busy

And joined in to sing.

No problems or worries.

Would she ever bring.

So, would you believe,

When the first day ended

There were only good memories

And all of them, 

SPLENDID!                                     

Later, at home, when Lila

Stepped from the bus,                 

She responded to Mom,

Without one little fuss.

“How was your day, Lila?

I know you were sad.”                     

Lila looked up at Mom,

And smiled and said,

“At first, I was sad.

I missed you so much.

But I turned

SAD to EXCITED

And that helped a bunch!”

Then, with a big, jump                             

That made Mom surprised,

Lila repeated,

“SAD to EXCITED!!!!

It made me

ENERGIZED!”

Mom understood

That’s just how it went;

From that day on,

Lila stayed very content.

Now, she doesn’t stay worried

And you can be sure

She tries to stay happy,

And that is the cure!

She’s a smart little wonder

Confident and brave,

So, whenever you’re

Worried,

Please, don’t misbehave.

Think of Lila instead
