Beautiful Flower

by Margaret Mullings — Read all 398 poems by Margaret Mullings

A woman of virtue and kindness is no longer among us, yet she like the beautiful flowers in the meadows, stood as the most beautiful flower of them all. For she was so compassionate and in humility she leaves her imprints in the hearts of so many. Beautiful flower gone but not forgotten! Be blessed as you read!

Poem Artwork

Beautiful flower,

Budded and multiplying,

Working tirelessly with her hands.

She grew in her faith,

in God and in the Word,

She did meditate.

She blossomed with,

A compassionate heart,

Of love with a gift so potent,

Each time she baked her bread,

And pasteries which she sold,

To others. As soon as you,

Ate of her dainties you desired,

To go and purchase more!

People came from miles and miles,

Just to partake of her bread,

Even from far across the seas,

People requested and made,

Their orders too!

A gift so potent,

Even the little children,

Would assemble in her shop,

And call her Mama!

What a beautiful flower,

Yet she was a very stern,

And a no nonsense person,

She was a disciplinarian.

When she would cut her eye,

And give you that look!

You knew that you were doing,

Or saying something wrong,

Quickly you repented!

Beautiful flower had that much

influence!

Beautiful flower flourished,

In being a virtuous  woman,.

filled with the wisdom of God,

And the fruit of her womb,

is a testament of her labor of love!

Beautiful flower! I will always remember,

Her as the richest woman in the world.

For the potent gift that she possessed,

Was that of compassionate love ,

And humility!

Oh the wonder of the grace and beauty,

Of the Lord that was so evident,

In her life!

Beauttiful flower now has folded,

And taken wings.

She is being rewarded,

leaving her imprints in numberless,

Hearts forever!!!!!!!

Mrs. Fairleen Lightbourne Smith,

Gone but not forgotten!!!!!!!!

WHAT A TOUCHING ODE TO WHAT SEEMS TO BE ONE OF GOD'S RARE, BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. YOUR IMAGERY IS VIVIDLY CLEAR AND THOUGH I NEVER KNEW HER, YOU INTROUDUCED HER SPLENDIDLY! SORRY I DIDN'T GET TO MEET HER ON THIS SIDE BUT...ONE DAY...WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN...I WILL. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
