I felt a horrible pain
During the early afternoon then
You called on your cell phone
And immediately I knew it was you
Words cannot describe how I personally felt
I wanted to rush to be by your bedside
To read the Word, sing songs and to pray
For you;
Abba Father had other plans and as I walked
Into the prayer room all I could do was pray
For I knew the meeting we had recently
Was final and I shall never forget what you said,
“Sister Margaret, lift me up on my pillow!”
I replied as I was lifting you,
“Susan “Sudie” you are heavy!”
Then you said, “I coming, I coming”
The sad news of your departure is unsettling
Bringing with it silent tears as I remember
There was a Sunday when bended over at the alter
Praying for someone,
My back ached with intense pain;
A hand touched the very spot and
In an instant the pain vanished.
I asked Abba Father, “Who was the hand that
Touched me,
He replied, “Sudie, she is doing her work!”
I smiled as I looked at you Sudie!
Silent tears are still flowing,
For you have impacted my life in such
A personal way;
What I once thought was you nagging
Has shown me how to be persistent
And consistent; relentless too on this
Journey;
Susan “Sudie” Pratt you were a brave
Soldier always so positive with an
Unconquerable Faith!
You were always there and today
While in prayer my silent tears
Turned into sounds of deep groans
Yes, travailing!
New Birth has taken place and I have
The faith and believe you
Have been lifted and promoted!
Silent tears will not be in vain.
For heaven has gained.
