Poem Artwork

You look toward the horizon
And the spirit of your person.
To wait out love
You find something palatable for your focus..
Throw your line out and then persevere,
...waiting for that motion.
It comes as a small bump
Then a shallow forms a circle in the water
Each one builds another
Within that circle
Another and another
Just as the larger one fades
Another begins
You watch for the power underneath the surface
There's another tug
Another circle forms
Still you wait anticapating a bigger tug
There it is
Your desire is ready to come to you this time
You beam all over
You pull back and it pulls
You empower your muscles and sinews
And all you have, to pull ...
It resists
This is to be a reward
So you persevere
One minute leads to the next
And the next
Then the line goes slack
Your wish runs straight for your palms
Your smile is huge and your desire is satisfied
You bring her in, look at her shine
You know you will be full soon and she...augh!
She is happy to be allowed to feed your need
This is why she was born.
You look up at the afternoon sunset
Shooting through the skeleton treeline
You feel the heart of nature
The man ...his desire and beauty
The order in which we get what we desire
With a little time and a little work.

Reading I was thinkong of what I would have done to that poor trout, assuming it's big enough to eat. You make my mouth water.

Well done Susan, now I know you are a fisherman because you captured the way it really is when you get that fish on the line and start playing him/her for real and the similarity to finding love is quite similiar I must agree.

Hope your catches aren't all catch and release though.

hugs,
FEe

Now this is truly a 'Keeper,' as those who love to fish would say.
