I wrote this after watching the Twin Towers fall. It is meant to be a message for all of you as well. We never know when the end will come and rob of us these three words. Say them to yourself first then to the others' who you've neglected. It will be worth it to them and yourselves....before it is too late!
I tried to count my blessings
Just a few minutes before
Today was such a tragedy
I just couldn't ignore
The reasons that we love
The chances that we get
The moments when we hold so dear
The hearts we won't forget
The way the world keeps turning
Disasters that can take
Away the ones we hold so dear
In seconds of their wake
Oklahoma bombings
We never will forget
Trade Towers standing tall
Next minute GONE...and yet
Americans persevere
We're brave and still stand tall
Love outweighs the hatred
Faith lives and after all
Love comes above all of these
Its in our hearts...our creed
Tell someone you love them
Its important...plant the seed
Americans are about the love
The hearts that beat so true
Tell the world you love them
For me and them and you
Don't waste another minute
Another second take
Tell someone you love them
Before it is too late.
You've just brought back to mid that moment of impact in my own mind....where I was, what I was doing, how I reacted to thsose around me,,,,the realization that our country had ben fired upon and we were at war on our own soil. Who would I call when I was alone? Where wold I go...seek shelter of home or make a beline to give blood( which I did). And no matter how many times I saw it, I was in disbelief.

I believe we all basically yearn to love, but that love can seldom outweigh the hatred of division and that this is what led to the tragedy of 9/11. We must love each other before it's too late. Great Pierre.

(((Susan ))) you have the warmest and biggest heart..Tommarow's the day with tons of emotions...I know even people at AD lost loved ones. My best friend Gregg Sonn lost twelve friends in the twin towers..It just about killed him..He couldn't deal with it so to this day he isolates..I have tried so much to help..Time heals all..Friends he grew up and played ball with in Jersey / NY border..It's going to be a hard day but we will as Americans over come...We will not be afraid of any radical terrist..I will be in intercession tommarow alot...Thank you sister--

A good reminder. Seems that I'm the last to comment on your poems. But then, better late than never. There is such a frenetic immediacy in AD that no one except me comments on aging works. Thanks for bringing work like tihis back so that we can view it anew.
