Never rush your day. You just may pass by something very important.

Poem Artwork

Tell me how the grass smells after a summer rain?
Then tell me how the sun streams and eases a muscle pain?
Then speak of all the different songs a mockingbird can bring
Then tell me if you can, in your step...is there a spring?
The leap that comes in a pace just when your true love beckons
The trapeze swing that clings to love, just where is it, you reckon?
You think it's lost in a place where sun is outside waiting ?
Or an office or a cubicle where work is always stretching
Hours upon hours making sense of money
What's the point when life is short...what's the matter honey?
Tell me what you're missing, living life this way
You can't have many treasures if you pay and pay and pay
Take a look at country, a rusting John Deere Tractor
Smell new hay and take a nap, make laziness a factor
Add rosiness to your cheeks and life to all your tears
Work to live, not the opposite, add detail to all your years
Keep it up you'll miss the boat, the meaning of your birth
You can make it stretch more today and double all your worth
Take it easy on your spirit, it too could use some sun
Come on out and play with me, add years to all your fun.
I love you and afterall , and funny as it seems
You can't possibly love living when you short change all your dreams

You ask questions in a most beautiful way. And the answer I suppose is that if we don't live life to the full, we're missing out. Great images. Victor

Susan, a wonderful message...we should all stop to smell the roses and enjoy each day of our lives. A nice inspiring poem.

... And, here, I've been doing all that... just right, and never knew you had a patent on it. This is wonderful writing, and great advice for those who need to slow down. You do weave it all into a strong fabric, and I'm hanging onto it ... in case I slip up somewhere! - Bill

So right you are sweet Susan and this poem brings it all into our hearts just how beautiful love and life can be if we allow ourselves the gift of slowing down and enjoying it. I guarentee when you are laying on a hospital bed with paddles raised above your heart it is too late then...I know I was there.
