By Susan de Vegter

I tucked my pillows all around
So not to feel alone
Into the quiet dead of night
I ached for you into my bones
As yearnings pierced each silent wail
Into a void I groped and fell
Until the lonely twisted aching
Slipped me to sleep
To a dream awakening.

The lonliness of a dreamer and romantic at night is one of ultimate sadness...for to breath and smile we need romance and love in our lives and in our arms. I could feel the yearning and sadness crammed into this short but dramatic write dear Susan..lovely.

Loneliness makes us different persons... aching for life with another.
Your words bring this out... starkly... and we find them unforgettable.
You cram a lot of wallop into your brief poems!

Sensual without sexuality (which is such a beautiful and pure way of expressing the aches of love). Although my tongue was aching to rhyme at the end at the 8th line, and groped its hopes beginning of the 9th then fell in a drought at the last word. That sounds ridiculously harsh, I'm aware, but of the ones I've read tonight - I feel I like yours best. Very feminine, without feminism. I give it a thumbs up!
