Extremely heartfelt, Cynth'ya; and brought back some wonderful memories of my grandmother who was also a precious gem, as yours obviously is.

Cynth’ya, this is an exceptionally emotive write, which many can relate too. Although as one ages, hopefully they’ll always have someone in their corner who will stand by them no matter what. However, I am afraid of the younger generation who don’t realize that they too will age. I am fortunate knowing that my children were brought up to respect their elders even though they constantly threaten me with putting me in the old folks home every time we are together…lol. Kids aren’t they wonderful…lol. I always respected and admired my grandmother right up until the day she passed away. She was 99, and still retained all of her faculties and vigor, and I still show respect and cherish the wonderful memories I have of all of my grandparents. This is an outstanding loving tribute to someone who obviously you hold very dear to your heart. Thank you for sharing this wonderful write my friend. Take care.

How I feel this and your sentiments here, Cynth'ya... My mother is now 87 and fears losing her "mind" and her dignity the most. It is a very difficult time for those of us who want to protect and nurture these weakening ones at a frightening time of their lives. Knowing they are loved, respected and not alone allows them the freedom just "to be as they are". Sadly, for many elderly, they have not the family support to hold them in this way. As your last line says, they should be free to become as the "little children" again in their hours of weakness. Bless you and your on-going work. Thank you for this gem that has a very great lustre!
