Heroes glaze their body armor
with airborne passionfruit kisses,
shielding home-thoughts from senseless wars,
scraping sear’d carnage from their souls,
longing for childhood Valentines,
in plain brown with stick-on hearts,
while battling preschool shyness,
of girls who hate boys with cooties.

Love & Peace
Start with 'Heros', end with 'cooties'... Very symbolic and metaphorical, to my eye. Your wordsmithing often contains a book-within-a-poem.
Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen
I felt each word shiver through me--o, yes. Powerfully penned, Poet, friend, with courage and quiet strength.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
