moving day

by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed — Read all 584 poems by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed

A change of attitude sometimes needs its own space in order for us to move to a different level.

Poem Artwork

tired of twiddling in your pity pool?
worn down from wasting away
in the old used-2-b's?

exasperated from self-execution
and blame for not being able to
change a wrong romance that lost
its spark when you misidentified
the twinge in your heart
as a long gone good old lovin' feeling?

then pick up your wrinkled passion,
press it out with the steam of self-worth,
crease it and fold it like grandma's holiday hankie,
make sure the old teardrops have faded away

then put it in your pocket with a falling star,
pick up your passport to freedom
at the gate where security is determined
by your need to decide for yourself,

forward your address to the gated community
on "Moved On For Better Boulevard"
and discover the YOU that you neglected
for the sake of once vagrant intentions

You've said it so well Cynth'ya: Each of us has been in that place, and although sometime we are reluctant to "move", we know it is for the best.
Continued success/

Medicine du jour, Cynth'ya, you words speak volumes to those who just can't seem to get up off of their posteriors long enough to realize that there are blessings to be found, everywhere around. WTG Girlfriend!!
Take care,
Sherry

You and I on the same page, Cynth'ya, you just said it better than I. Although life is doing it's damndest to wear me out, my God is stronger than any adversity. I believe I will win, with His help! And He'll get all the glory. Well done, enjoyed reading you again!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
